|Worlds oldest bike race and second leg of SWE-cup this weekendScandinavian Race is the race that has been held most times in the world. First time was 1909 and it has been done every year since then. Now a days it’s one of the two international races on the Swedish calendar (UCI 1.2). This means we will race against the continental teams from the nordic countries but we will also see teams from Spain and Kuwait.
Ludvig Bengtsson has finished second two years in a row. Hopefully this third year is the lucky one. The race runs on a 14kms long circuit around Uppsala. It is a technical circuit with many turns. Crosswinds are also possible. Pollaksbacken 1,5kms from the finish line can be decisive. An attack there can go all the way if the other teams don’t get organized.
The second leg of SWE-cup is on Sunday. It’s a super hard circuit around Uppsala castle. Every lap the riders has to climb up to the castle and the peloton stretches. Normally there are few finishers.
Erik Sandersson is leading SWE-cup after the first leg at Kinnekulle.
